Maddy Wainright has given up on marriage - and men. After dating way too many losers who aren't capable of appreciating her for who she is, she's about ready to resign herself to a life of spinsterhood. Until her insanely rich boss, Daniel Thorne, comes along with an offer she simply can't refuse. He proposes a marriage of convenience - one that would allow Maddy to live in the lap of luxury for a year and Mr. Thorne to stay in the country that has become his home. At the end of their arrangement, Maddy will walk away with a cool two million dollars. All she has to do is move into his penthouse, put on a convincing show in public, and endure a few INS interviews, for which she will be thoroughly prepped. It's a big risk, but one Maddy might just be willing to take, considering the payoff.
At first, it's all business. But when the gentle touches, passionate kisses, and lingering looks they have to give each other in public start spilling over into their private life, Daniel and his devious mind take Maddy to heights of pleasure she's never experienced. And the more she gets to know him, the more she feels that wistful tug in her chest every time he puts his arm around her in public. Before long, she finds herself wishing it were real. As time goes on, Maddy finds herself wondering if two million dollars will be enough to cover the cost of repairing a broken heart. But Mr. Thorne may have yet another secret in store....

First off, I want to say that this was the first book that I read by this Author.I had mixed feelings about this book because I felt like it was PRETTY WOMAN & FIFTY SHADES OF GREY in one. That is supposed to be a good thing right - but it was NOT. *Sigh*
I DNF but here is my review of what I managed to read:-
The story starts off with Maddy being summoned into her boss' office - she had no interactions with him before this! He tells her that he needs a "wife" because he does not want to be deported by the INS. I had some concerns about the legality of this...Why would you ask someone (that you have never spoken to before), to be a part of something this serious??
Then she agrees to the marriage. A contract is finally signed. Maddy, to me, came off as a "gold digger" because she was dreaming about the money (that she didn't have) and how she was going to spend it...She was also a very weak heroine.
They go on a first date (after her episode in the boutique - you know a pauper goes for a makeover - so much like Pretty Woman)... On their first date, she wears an amazing dress and it is so lovely that she ends up wearing it again to their second date. I understand that she was dirt poor but the fact that you're wearing the same thing to two dinner dates with a BILLIONAIRE - someone is bound to notice!
I am sorry to say that this book was not for me.

I Married a Billionaire (Audible Audio Edition) Melanie Marchande Veronica Meunch Tantor Audio Books Reviews
Daniel Thorne Billionaire boss to Madeline Wainright selects Madeline for a special project. That project involved Madeline marrying him in a fake marriage to save him from being deported. Mistakes were made in filling his citizenship papers and now the only way to stay in the US is if he marries a US citizen. He is attractive and all the women in the office would love to be in her shoes. She is to play along with him, appear to be love and talk to the INS. The marriage will last 1 year at which time she will be paid 2 million dollars and given a better job in another firm. During the year of their marriage she will be taken care of financially and will live with him and will have to leave her job for appearance sake. Daniels attorney is present during the negotiations and has drawn up a contract. Which is technically illegal. Maddy gets called in to Mr. Thorne's office every day and they discuss thing and have dinner. She makes a list of questions to ask and over a period of several days she finally decides to accept his offer. He had selected her because her supervisor said she had a distaste for marriage. She had to make a reasonable effort to play the role and behave in public as if they were a couple. There was to be no emotional ties. Mr. Thorne asked Ms. Wainright to go on an official date. She had to get a nice dress to wear and Mr. Thorne sent her to a specific boutique to get the dress. He told her to talk to Emma and she would help her.
They spend time going over their story for the INS interview. He thinks he has everything covered. She even meets his sister and her husband. And his sister helps her plan the wedding. All the women in the office appear to hate her. Sister and Maddy get along wonderfully.
He helps her pack her stuff to move it into his apartment. At one point she tries to seduce him and he stops saying we can't do this. She is disappointed . After the wedding he planned a honeymoon suited to her. She had at one time told him she wanted to go to the Moon. So he set up a visit to Nasa where she got to experience astronaut training and a simulated moon landing. She was falling in love with him. They consummated the marriage but after they got back home Danny didn't touch her. Things start to go wrong. They start to fight and for a while he stays away from the apartment days at a time. Then there is a home visit from the INS. He accuses her of telling someone, which she didn't and finally he finds out an ex lover did it because his attorney told her. At one point they begin having relationships in the bedroom and she is happy with that. Then at 6 months he gets his permanent visa to stay in America and lets her know they can end the relationship early and still get her 2 million dollars. She isn't happy and lets him know for safety they should continue.
His sister visits again and she lets them know she knows the marriage is fake, but she also says you two love each other for real. He didn't want to admit it but then ends up they both admit it to each other. Over a year later they are still married. She is even rethinking her no children rule. The story is well written and is very believable. I loved it and as usual put myself in her shoes feeling what she felt and wanted to scream at Danny on several occasions. It does seem like a happy ending. The story isn't loaded with a lot of sexual scenes but it does have a few thus is not for minors under 18. I loved it.
There seem to be an incredible number of billionaires littering the streets of Romanceland. Dan is just another member of what ought to be an elite group. With a combination of themes from movies like "Green Card", "The Proposal", "Pretty Woman" and "50 Shades of Grey", it appears that Dan needs a wife in order to remain in the U.S. He also needs a playmate for his tastes in bondage and dominance. One of his employees, Maddy, is up to her eyes in credit card debt. A deal is struck $2,000,000 in exchange for a year of her life. Things go along exactly as you might expect. There isn't a single surprise in this book. At times it reads like a sweet romance, then Maddy gets busy with her detachable shower head and the sweetness subsides. Much of the book is filled with one fancy restaurant meal after another. The best scenes in the book center on their honeymoon, yet those lack the detail that could have made them really engrossing. Dan is an interesting character, possibly because the reader is given so little information about him. Maddy is mostly a placeholder, having no friends and an estranged family. Her interest in art is mentioned but not developed. The best thing I can say about this book is that I read it through to the end. It's the kind of book suited for an airplane trip, where you can toss it away as you leave the terminal.
This romance was like a coloring book page before it is colored in--the outline of the picture is charming but it is missing all the hues and vibrancy that really makes it come alive.
This writer is very promising and I hope to read books by her in the future that are not missing the detail and the follow through of a full piece. I was disappointed when I reached the end of the story that so little was resolved in terms of conflicts in the story. We do get the start of a nice HEA but then I discovered that there are several books to go in the series on this couple.
I did not find them a compelling enough couple because of the missing pieces nor the nature of this contemporary romance to need several books to follow them. While this isn't quite a serial as there is no cliffhanger, I still wish it had been a complete novel--all in one.
The missing parts--Why doesn't Maddie have any friends outside the disappeared Lisa? What is the backstory exactly of his previous deal? ... There are tons of these threads.
Sigh.
